Creating a Styled Wedding Shoot

I cannot believe it was now just over two weeks ago we hosted our incredible Luxe Botanical styled shoot workshop. With so much going on since then I am finally able to sit down and share this fabulous day and amazing images with you.

I had quite a few reasons for wanting to create a shoot, the first one was for my own business branding as I needed images, practice what you preach! I had been working with Bloomfield Photography who were also very keen to get some up-to-date, fresh images too.  With two great minds thinking alike the seed was sown over some delicious lunches at the Bloomfields!

I also wanted to teach my lovely intern, Fiona, more about what actually happens behind the business of weddings, more importantly to not just work in your business but always keep working on it too.

The Wedding Industry is very fast moving, what is in one year won´t be in the next and no matter how classical you are, trends will change and your shop window can quickly look outdated.

See how quickly now we moved on from the shabby chic, hessian and jam jars that were everywhere 4 years ago!

As I started to plan this shoot it quickly escalated into something quite extraordinary, I had so many wonderful suppliers willing to collaborate with me with their beautiful products.

Having fallen in love with the botanical gardens and gorgeous estate at the Hacienda Nadales in Malaga, I managed to secure it as the shoot location, apparently was unheard of as they had never agreed to this before!

Aren´t these gardens just beautiful, I wish I could add into this post the sounds of the birds singing all day as we worked away, it is such a peaceful and magical space abundant with so many different species of plants and trees. It really was the perfect backdrop in so many ways.

With such an amazing styled shoot now lined up I decided to open up just 6 spaces for wedding planners and creatives to join us. I felt it would be beneficial for anyone in the wedding business learning or improving their skills to come along and join us at such an inspiring, creative experience.

I passionately believe in finding your own creative styles and attending as many educational and creative experiences as possible, it can be very isolating at times working by yourself and often you need a bit of creative space and thinking to bring out the best in you for your business.

The places were filled within two weeks and then I had the wonderful news that Jeremy Standley wanted to join us to document the day on film, to say I was super excited was an understatement!

How utterly gorgeous are these images, beautifully captured by Bloomfield Photography and can you imagine my delight when these landed in my inbox about a week later! There is such a thrill after organising an event or wedding to receive images like these especially if they are for your wedding business branding. I can´t begin to tell you how important it is to either create your own shoot or jump on the opportunity to join a workshop like this if you are serious about your wedding business.

Even if you are already working as a wedding planner or creative such as a florist, cake maker, stationery designer, to name a few, can you honestly say that probably quite a few weddings you plan, decorate, create or work on are not your style radar? I know I have some that have never made my blog or social media, they were just not my wedding business style.

But let´s face it, it is money, we are all running businesses not supporting hobbies, so we need the work but by concentrating and always focusing on your niche and creating or attending a shoot that totally fits your dream business you are going to attract more of your perfect dream clients much faster if your shop window is set out properly across your website, social media and business branding.

As I have so many wonderful images I am featuring a few blog posts about this styled shoot to show you how I created it, what we actually did on the day behind the scenes and also show you how Helen created some beautiful flat lays and studio shots after the shoot to compliment everything and create more beautiful imagery for all the amazing suppliers who supported and trusted me.

My big thank you to all the collaborators and attendees who joined us on the day. Drum Roll to all these amazing and supportive companies.
